Upon the completion of my daily consigned readings (I am currently rereading Henri de Lubac’s, The Christian Faith), I thought I would catch up on my internet readings. While at James White’s AOMIN blog, I clicked on the 07-31-08 Dividing Line video broadcast. Not long into the broadcast, James pokes fun at a recently posted YouTube video that was reposted on Steve Ray’s and Dave Armsrtrong’s blogs. (FYI - The original posting on YouTube HERE.)
As I have now grown accustomed to, James did not provide any links to the original piece that provoked his somewhat whimsical critique; so, I enlisted Google and up came this SITE. The Google search brought the CELLEDOOR BIBLE blog to my attention for the first time. My ‘standard operating procedure’ for new sites is to try and obtain an overall ‘feel’ for the site, and while browsing through some of the other threads I came across THIS DISTURBING POST.
I WAS LITERALLY SHOCKED! Patty Bonds’ (James White’s older sister) ongoing autobiography via her Out of Darkness series is a heart-breaking one; yet thanks to God’s grace, there is healing and light. Patty shall be in my prayers, and I would like to request that she will be in yours as well…
Grace and peace,
David

Why am I not surprised to see you, David, joining in promoting slanderous, unsubstantiated and disgusting fantasies and accusations against living people along with all these other desperate Romanists? All in service of Mother Church indeed. There is nothing too low, too disgusting, to be used in Rome's service, is there? More examples of Rome's true nature, to be sure.

Hello James,
This thread has nothing to do at all with ones eccesiology/theology, but rather it is about the very moving autobiography of sister in Christ. For the record, I would never think of using Patty’s heartfelt life story to promote anything other than sincere prayers for her ongoing healing via the tender mercies of our Lord.
In Christ our Lord and Savior,
David
Yes, I am certain that is why Rome's apologists together post such slanderous fantasies. Indeed, no doubt about it! And Mary's house was carried by angels to Loreto, too.
David,
I hope you understand where Dr. White is coming from. As you know, he has been and is the target of intense, consistent and focused rational and irrational emotion.

Me: I do not know the motives of any others who have posted on this sensitive topic; but, I do know mine, and I can assure you from the depths of my soul that an apologia for the RCC did not, and will not, enter into the picture one iota from me.
My prayers for divine healing extend to both you and your sister…

David
Good evening Kepha (Frank),

Me: I am beginning to discern that a very deep and emotional ‘history’ seems to exist between many of the contemporary Protestant and Catholic disputants (especially those backed by monetary donations). With such a deep and emotional ‘history’ in view, I think I may understand, be it ever so limited, Dr. White’s response/s.
For the record, I do not consider myself an apologist for the RCC; I say this for the simple fact that the bottom line for me is TRUTH; and the only thing at stake for me is making sure that I get I ‘right’ during my earthly sojourn—I sense, that you and I are on the same journey…
Grace and peace in our Lord Jesus,
David
David,
My advice would be keep reading de Lubac's work and not go into terrible internet articles or radio shows. There are some good stuff online, even in blogs, that I would recommend but I would keep away from the usual Catholic-Protestant apologetics. They just suck...from both sides.
There are so many great topics to be covered in theology that it would be a waste of time to let yourself keep reading some of the old apologetics stuff.
