The Ehrman Project
I have been working on a new thread that explores the use and meaning of the term “monarchy”, as it relates to God and the Godhead, in the Church Fathers of the 4th century (especially the Cappadocians). I had thought I would have the post up by Tuesday, but recent studies have exposed, what appears to me, to be a contradiction among the post-Nicene Eastern/Greek fathers. Anyway, while researching this issue, I came across an unrelated online resource that I wanted to share with my readers:
Ehrman Project.com
Back to my research—I hope to have my new thread up soon, but it may be as late as Monday.
Grace and peace,
David

David,
Thanks for pointing out the "Ehrman Project" web -site - it is an impressive collection of other believing scholars who show the problems with Ehrman's theories and liberal and skeptic agenda.
Hi Ken,
Earlier this morning you wrote:

My pleasure! I am a bit surprised that I had not come upon this informative site prior to last night. Now that I am aware of it, I will do my best to make it known to as many individuals as possible.
Grace and peace,
David
Hi, David!
(Do you have any children?)
With the name of Allah, Peace be unto you and the mercy and blessings of God...
David, I would be most interseted in the following,
"I would have the post up by Tuesday, but recent studies have exposed, what appears to me, to be a contradiction among the post-Nicene Eastern/Greek fathers."
And of course any interaction that follows. I find it interesting that the Orthodox have had to take an evidenced based approach to apologetic and move away from a more presuppositional view.
Times they are a changing.
Grace and Peace be unto you.
Hi Lvka,
An interesting question—I have three daughters...
Thanks for the link!

Me: My upcoming post (hopefully this Wednesday ???) continues to be postponed due to the greater lengths and depths of research that the topic has forced this beachbum to engage in. I plan to focus on the issue of "the monarchy" (monarchia) as presented by the post-Nicene 4th century Church Fathers, as well as what patristic scholars have termed "the Cappadocian settlement". My studies have 'revealed' (at least to me) that some controversy among patristic scholars exists over what the CFs actual taught about the above two issues.
Thanks much for your (and everyone else) patience...
Grace and peace,
David
Lvka,
Thanks again for the link— another excellent thread!
Wish I had more time right now to spend at Sanidopoulos' informative site, but I really want to get this promised post of mine completed. I have added his site to my favorites and "LABELS", and hope spend some serious time there when I am not so engaged in my current studies.
God bless,
David
Hi David,
I'm eager to read your new post. You're right that scholarly opinion is quite diverse on the Cappadocians. I remember seeing an essay that presented three or four different takes on the monarchy in St. Gregory the Theologian.
Blessings in Christ,
John
Well, here's something to help you in your endeavour.. :-)
